On the 6th of March, 2015, the Malta Institute of Management (MIM) will undertake the organisation of the 9th International Taxation Conference, the theme of which will be the ‘Taxpayers’ Rights in a Changing International Landscape’.

An address by the MIM President Mr. Hector Spiteri followed by a foreword from the Finance Minister, the Honorable Prof. Edward Scicluna, will launch the Conference. This will be followed by dialogues from various eminent speakers, including most notably Prof. Philip Baker QC (Barrister, Gray’s Inn Tax Chambers, UK), Prof. Pasquale Pistone (University of Salerno & Holder of a Jean Monnet ad Personam Chair at the Vienna University of Economics and Business), and Dr. Christiana Panayi.

Cardinal issues such as taxation as a basis for human rights claims, latest developments in the sphere of exchange of information, and various transformations in both EU and international tax landscapes, will be the central leitmotifs of the Conference.
